Black Company Standard
The Black Company Standard has two parts;
The Death's Head Banner--
Description:
The banner is a 4 foot high, 3 1/2 foot wide, piece of cloth,
embroidered with the Company symbol. The Company symbol is an
unbroken silver circle surrounding a silver human skull with elongated
canine teeth. Having no lower jaw, it breathes flames through is teeth.
The eye sockets exhibit a redish glow. All upon a black as death background.
Powers:
The banner has no special powers, however during battle, Goblin will
cast illusions on it to make the eyes glow and the flames to flicker
behind its teeth.
History:
The Lance of Passion--
Description:
A spear type lance, 12 feet long from butt to point.
The lance head is 18 inches long, 12 of those inches are blade.
The cross-piece is tied 5 feet down form the point. The cross-piece
is 4 feet long.

History:
Here is the creation "myth" taken strait from the book, Dreams of
Steel (page 296-297).
"[The Lance] ...heads had been forged of metal taken from the sword of
a demon king devoured by Kina during the great battle between Light
and Shadow. That demon king's soul was imprisoned in the steel,
fragmented amongst eight lance heads. He could not be restored while
Kina slept.
The shafts of the lances, too were the object of legend. Two were
supposed to have been formed from the thigh bones of Kina herself,
taken after she had been tricked into endless sleep. One was
supposedly the penis of the Regent of Shadow, that Kina had hacked off
during the great battle. The rest were supposed to be of wood from
the tree in which the goddess of brotherly love, Rhavi-Lemna, had
hidden her soul shortly before the Wolves of Shadow ran her down and
devoured her, soon after Man was created. Kina had witnessed the
concealment and had torn up the tree and had made it into arrows and
lance shafts."

Black Company Badge
The Black Company Badge is a grim piece of jewelry indeed. It is a
4 inch wide pin bearing the Company symbol. A circle of silver
surrounding a silver human skull with large canine teeth and no lower
jaw. Gold and bronze "flames" come down fron the mouth. The eyes are
set with red garnet stones. All this is set on black onyx.
Only members of the Old Crew will have these expensive baubles.
Newer brothers will have less expensive copies made of black glass
enamel on silver.
When a Black Company brother dies, his badge is not given to a new
recruit. Instead it is taken and carried by a surviving brother.
Some Old Crew carry dozens of badges from fallen comrades. New
recruits are given a badge once the Company is in a location where
new badges can be commissioned from capable craftsmen.
